Hello,

What is hierarchy? ”a system in which members of an organization or society are ranked according to relative status or authority”.

I wanted to talk about hierarchy ages ago.

Why?

Because I’ve noticed authorities since the childhood and I always had a feeling it isn’t right. I hate hierarchal system and I think it doesn’t work. It is everywhere. Starting from the family, spreading to work, government, billionaires and etc. Schools, friendship – literally everything.

There is always someone and something ”better”. Someone and something having ”higher” authority.

Parents use it on their children. Bosses use it on their teams. Politicians going against citizens.

The worst part of it. Is that you are not allowed to question those who are on the top. In Lithuania – you are not allowed to question older people. They know better and that’s it. If you question a government – you’re silenced. If you question Hollywood – guess what? You’re a goner.

In my opinion it doesn’t work, because we should be all the same. Everyone should be open to everyone. To respect. To consider. Everyone deserves the same things. We should collaborate. If someone is great at Maths and someone is great at Arts, it doesn’t mean that one is better than the other. No. They both bring value. Both deserve to exist. They’re different. But they are good as they are.

When we do hierarchy, this means – we deny certain things and people. But we should accept, not deny. We should collaborate on our differences but not make them the enemy.

I will repeat this as many times as I can. Hate brings destruction and love brings connection. When we are considering that we are better than someone else, that’s where hate comes in. If we think – we all are the same, but with different pluses and minuses, this gives acceptance and love.

I just don’t know how we are supposed to get rid of hierarchy. It is so ingrained to our brains that it is hard to imagine living without it. That’s what people call Utopia.

Honestly, why do we need leaders? Why do we need someone to be higher? Why can’t we all be deserving of respect, consideration, acceptance and love?

My mom always described me as a dreamer. That I dream all the time, because the things I want – won’t ever exist.

Why not?

Why wanting something good for everyone on this planet earth is so unrealistic? We already have so many bad things. Why not start having good for everything and everyone?

It’s time to shift. And if I can imagine people having the best of their lives, why can’t you?
