How about being unique?

Hello,

recently I thought came to my mind about being unique.

Most likely because a great astrologer reminded me about being unique.

I think people struggled with this throughout all our existence. Since reading some books about human psychology, I realised that is absolutely normal. Normal wanting to be the same and behave the same, belong to a group actually comes from a very far evolution of our brain. We were designed this way. Something that seems unfamiliar or unknown and our brain immediately treats it as a threat.

However, we are becoming more and more individual and we like doing the opposite – be different.

I guess that is how our brains are changing.

Being unique is definitely something what people want now more and more. It is enough to look at companies and their branding or people clothing. Everyone is looking how to be better and different. Then people relate to that new way of being and it grows to a part of a club.

I think being unique is quite difficult. People judge you, they don’t understand you, some will love you and some will follow.

We are all unique as simply as the way we exist. All of us became ourselves, we all are different with our unique experiences and environments. Obviously, we all can find similarities – one and most important – we are all humans (well hopefully 😀 ). But we all bring something new to a table. New perspective, new mindset.

I think being yourself is the most unique thing anyone can do, however, what does it mean being yourself?

I truly don’t know. I always thought I know who I am, but I learned that I was shaped, conditioned and made by all other factors than me. That is why being an adult feels so strange and lonely. That is the time where you actually getting to know yourself and find yourself.

Right now, I am trying to become myself and change all conditions, all habits, everything that made me, but not who I really am.

That is another point, so many people in life tries to ”fix” us or doesn’t allow us to be ourselves, puts some thoughts in our minds.

People are easily manipulated, I was like that too, unfortunately…

One post I shared on my Instagram, where I wrote, that one friend once told me not to take pictures sideways and always take straight pictures as it doesn’t look good, not professional etc. Only now, so many years later, I have realised – it doesn’t matter! If I want to take pictures as a sideway perspective – that is fine! That is my unique approach to take a picture. If my friend doesn’t like it – that is fine too! She is allowed to have her own perspective, but she shouldn’t kill my own uniqueness…

That is the most interesting thing of being a human, trying to do crazy things, random things and see how it goes.

Do you think if we all were thinking the same, not allowing anyone to make those crazy ideas, we would get where we are?

Only thanks to unique people with their new perspectives we managed to get so far. Creativity is one of our strengths and everyone has different type of creativity.

One can come up with a beautiful design, another one with a new maths equation and third one with an idea how to improve our environment. They are all welcome.

A lot of times, we are conditioned that we only need to think certain way or do only certain way, but that is not true.

Everyone has their own path and what works for one, may not work for the other.

I have realised now, that one of my strengths is – see uniqueness in others and allow them to be themselves. I have never tried to change anyone; I learned to observe and understand them. I also grew up in an environment with soo many different people. Only now I understood why I can listen to a rock music but love pop too. I love folklore and House music etc. As I see that all music styles are unique and have their own spices and it is beautiful!

Same with everything else.

I think to be unique is amazing. To have doing things your own way – is great. If you are not trying to force other to do the same.

The steps to reach uniqueness:

  1. Find yourself, work on your flaws, get to you know what you actually like (not what you were influenced to like) and what makes you happy.
  2. Share all that comes to your mind. It is so great to see people with their own perspective and how they see the world. It is inspiring!
  3. Don’t let someone else to tell you that you are not right.

Now, taking this from philosophy point of view. If we say that everyone should be allowed to be unique and be themselves, how about people who are bad? How about people who abuse, kill and etc?

Well, you could say, we should let them be, their own unique selves. As that is the way they are, however, a lot of abusive people become this way because their brain works that way orrr they were made this way. So, it means, they should be working on themselves, not to stay who they were made, but become better version of themselves, including – finding themselves, without influence of past events.

Ethically and morally, obviously no one can or should abuse anyone. I stand against abuse so much. However, knowing that universe is a form of existence itself, if we now start saying that someone cannot be abusive, does it mean that we are taking away their uniqueness?

Being unique can come from a good way, a right way, but it can definitely come from a negative and bad influence. Think of those leaders that were bad during our history, they were bad, but you cannot argue that they were not unique….

If we put certain fences around what being unique means, then it is not being unique anymore is it?

I will come back to my own thought said earlier – she is allowed to have her own perspective, but she shouldn’t kill my own uniqueness…

When people abuse, literally kill or manipulate, they don’t allow us to be ourselves, they don’t allow us to find ourselves. They don’t allow us to be unique. Which means – it is not acceptable. No one should stop you from being you and living your life. You shouldn’t do it either. Taking other person away (no matter which way, some take your physical body, some take your clear mind) is not acceptable. As they are stealing our uniqueness.

So yes, you can think that you hate certain people, but you shouldn’t impose that to others. You shouldn’t influence that mindset to others on purpose. Of course, if people agree with you willingly, that is another story, however, I think if we actually be able to step in to being better version of ourselves, all hate, and all abuse would disappear.

I never understood why someone would hate that you are gay or if you are religious. Who cares? Be gay, be religious, be white or Asian! Or any country citizen. As long as you are not abusing or harming others – be yourself. If someone wants to be transgender – let them! Who knows, maybe them being transgender will help us as human beings in a far future!

You may never know as our genes are changing and evolving all the time, and we don’t know what may help us. That uniqueness one day may just save our lives!

Basically, be unique. Be better version of yourself, find yourself, and live. As I am finding my own way to uniqueness, I wish that for you as well! ❤
