Let’s start with definitions for a cult – ”a system of religious veneration and devotion directed towards a particular figure or object” and “a person or thing that is popular or fashionable among a particular group or section of society”.

Definition of a country – “a nation with its own government, occupying a particular territory” and “a settled population, a defined territory, government and the ability to enter into relations with other states”.

Now since we cleared that out, please let me explain. So, basically the other day, I thought about country as itself. We have people, who follow a government, who does what government says and if you are against a government, you are an enemy of a country. Not easy to leave (depends which country) but still, leaving your own country requires money, effort and etc. So thinking this way it literally describes a cult. Some leader who is followed and people listen anything that leader says. People commit suicides or kills while being in a cult. Same in countries, people go to army to literally kill other people and well, nice way saying but brutal truth – kill themselves. Funny, how nobody questions that. You go to kill and die for your country, but no… Not exactly for a country, because the leader of your country decided that is what you must do… So how different it is from a cult?

Countries are just bigger cults, of course it’s not an easy task to control millions or billions of people, but we see this happening. If people are not doing something willingly, then they are forced. By paying many taxes, worrying about being homeless, threatened by somebody…

And we live this way and pretend it is totally okay. We let other people control our life, while leaders are doing absolutely anything they want….

You know, I think leadership is totally made up thing and part that everyone needs a leader is total brainwash. What if you let me do nothing? What if I don’t want to be directed in life. What if I want to find my own way of living? Why do we need to listen to somebody who not only doesn’t know us, but doesn’t even care about us?

You can argue of course, but I think that is hard truth that nobody notices. On top of political leaders we have other leaders such as singers, actors, corporations directors and executives and many many other roles that do lead people but nobody wants to see where, everyone just follows as good soldiers.

We should all be able to control and lead our own life, we can always ask for help and advise, but in the end it should be our choice how we want to live and hey, if we make a bad decision, then well.. At least we know we tried.
