how are you?

I am good, but as always it could be better.

As you may see from my post heading I will talk about equality. Why? Because it doesn’t exist in reality although it should. Everybody should be respected the same, everybody should be given opportunity to try what they want in life.

Basically, I noticed a lot of times at work that there is always this stupid play roles – I am somebody, while you are nothing. The higher position somebody gets, the worse they are. The most hilarious thing is that those people comes from same place as you. Let’s take my example from the recent job I had in Starbucks, overall, I need to do separate post about this company, but this is for next time. So, because I already had experience in retail and hospitality I immediately applied here for Shift Supervisor position. I was studying Masters degree and this was the best case scenario at the moment. I got a job obviously and I was in a training. I started to be trained on the till, bar, customer service and only then on supervising. While I was in training, there were some other people too, they came from baristas position or just came for a new job. After that other shift supervisors who got this position later than me as well came from baristas…

All right, now that you see the picture, I will tell you that some of those people, who got the higher position became really rude, they started to feel that they are better than everybody else, that supervisor is wow position and etc. I swear to God I saw people changing in my eyes after getting “higher” position. I do not support this, this is unfear and ridiculous at the same time. Like, first of all, this is just a coffee shop, one in a million. Second of all, you are just a same person as everybody who makes mistakes, who live their lives and etc. Nobody is better than somebody. To see how they change made me so angry. Like, who are you? The God now? I started to think, so imagine if people change just because they are getting 1 pound more for this position now, what to say about celebrities? Politicians? Rich people? They all think they are better than us. BECAUSE WHY?? In the end, we are all the same, we all screwed up and we all are just fucking HUMANS. Dear readers, I really don’t understand this. I know that one day all these people going to go down or realise what bullshit they did, but like WHO RAISED THESE KIDS???? Parents need to start to go to parenting school honestly.

Another thing where you can see a huge inequality is from customers. This is another level of disrespect. So they come to you to order food, or any other service and they are so fucking rude… There is situation. I was working on Saturday and Saturdays are hella busy day, we have a queue all the time. I worked on a bar. Imagine, this lady comes to complain about the drink and she says it tastes watery (it was a frappuccino right) and then she continues to demand to remake it, I did not want to because of the queue and I told her I did it the way it suppose to be and then she says to me – ‘I saw how you made it’. THANK YOU MISS, DO YOU WANT A REWARD FOR THAT???? Like honestly, I gave up with this I remade her a drink, literally did same thing as before, but can somebody explain why she had to be so rude? She saw the queue on the till, the queue on the bar, I was doing like 10 fraps in a row. WE ARE JUST A PEOPLE WE GET TIRED. I wouldn’t mind to remake this if she would just ask nicely, like you know she didn’t like the drink, can we please remake it. But nooo. No respect for me or my team. You think this happened just once? It happens all the time. People come to complain and they don’t respect us or our time. Like so many times people complained that they are waiting so long- THEY SEE THE QUEUE, THEY SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE WORK ON A BAR (not to mention that we remake at least 10 drinks because of various reasons) AND THEY STILL HAVE AUDACITY TO COMPLAIN…. I know that people who worked or work in customer service will know what I mean, but like customer treats us as we are their slaves, like we are not human you know. Sorry, we don’t even get paid properly for the bullshit we need to go through.

In my opinion, this should stop. Everybody are equal, nobody is better or worse. We need to respect each other, we need to respect our time, our health and etc. We are just a humans, tiny small bit of universe and nothing else. One day you are a president, another day you are homeless or dead.
