Web of Fortune

It sits on a carefully constructed web…
A black, revolting spider sits there,
on a web decorated with silver drops.
You can see life’s persistent will to survive.

The blowing wind shakes the web,
a force powerful and unyielding.
The spider is unafraid, for he knows—
soon, a lucky fly will land on his home.

The wind tries to ruffle the web,
and all the drops fall to the ground.
The scorched grass had been waiting,
longing for just a bit of life…

When a fly lands in the spider’s trap,
the beautiful web falls apart.
As you may know, beauty is not eternal.
Everything fades one day.

The spider caught his fly,
but the grass got the drops.
And so, it is fair.
One dies, another gains life…
